The VCERA Board of Retirement seeks to provide retirement, disability and survivor benefits to all vested members and their eligible beneficiaries. To achieve this long-term goal, the board works hard to ensure the pension fund is invested and managed intelligently. It hires specialized managers to invest and diversify the funds VCERA receives through contributions and investment earnings. Board trustees and executive staff also conduct periodic due diligence meetings with investment managers to verify that they continue to meet or exceed expectations.

VCERA’s total fund was valued at $5.4 billion as of June 30, 2018. Historical quarterly performance reports are provided below.
